Bill 1618/26 establishes guidelines for the provision of technical and vocational education based on regional economic vocations and the needs of the local productive sector. The text is under review in the Chamber of Deputies.
According to the proposal, educational systems should seek integration with the predominant productive activities in each locality, with a focus on practical training, employability, and entrepreneurship.
"Currently, there is a mismatch between the professional qualification offered and the real demands of the market," says the author of the proposal, Deputy Mauricio do Vôlei (PL-MG).
Practical training and partnerships
The project establishes joint action by the Union, states, and municipalities to expand courses in inland and underserved areas. The text also authorizes partnerships and agreements with companies, cooperatives, and organizations.
The proposal includes integrated technical training models, training programs, courses in the dual (theory and practice) model, and the issuance of intermediate certifications.
The priority in service delivery should be given to municipalities in rural areas, regions with the lowest level of economic development, and strategic areas, such as agribusiness, industry, technology, and essential services.

The project will be reviewed, indefinitive characterby the committees of Labor; Education; and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
To become law, it must be approved by both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
