The Public Prosecutor's Office of Ceará, through the 111th Public Prosecutor's Office in Fortaleza, denounced three men on Tuesday (September 15th) for allegedly killing a couple of merchants in the Mondubim neighborhood, in Fortaleza, on August 28th. The Public Prosecutor's Office requested the condemnation of Victor Freire, José Ribamar Neto (alias "Neném"), and Gabriel Freitas (alias "Biel") for triple aggravated homicide (base motive, common danger, and means that prevented the victims' defense), and for the crime of structured social domination committed within the context of an organized crime (use of violence, threats, or intimidation to control a territory, a community, or the local population, imposing its own rules and challenging the State's action). The accused remain in custody at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office's indictment, the trio was part of a criminal organization of Rio origin that was extorting merchants in the Mondubim neighborhood, through the collection of a "fee". The investigation indicates that the murdered couple had refused to contribute to the "toll", which motivated the execution. According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, Victor was responsible for firing the shots, with Ribamar and Gabriel providing support to complete the crime and flee the scene.

The Public Prosecutor's Office also denounced Victor's wife, Rayadna Nunes. During the execution of a search and seizure warrant, 17 kg of drugs, a precision scale, cell phones, and other objects were found in the couple's residence. They also admitted to hiding a .38 caliber revolver in the house. They were denounced by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Ceará for drug trafficking, illegal possession of a restricted firearm, and receiving stolen goods.
