The Judicial Police, through the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Directorate, arrested a couple yesterday, strongly suspected of committing an urban fire crime that occurred in the early hours – 01:05 am – on the morning of September 6th, in a house located in Loures.
The woman and the man used gasoline and a blowtorch to directly apply flame to the facade, carpets, and access doors of a neighboring residence. The two fire incidents resulted in damage, due to heat and soot deposition, to the main facade and access doors, as well as posing a danger to the physical integrity of the residents who were inside the house.
According to the investigation, the motive for the crime is related to disputes between neighbors.
The arrested individuals, aged 28 and 33, will be brought before the DIAP of Loures for the first judicial interrogation of the arrested suspect and the application of coercive measures.
