Thirty-seven boatmen, seven wooden boats, seven days and nights. More than 20,000 Red Army soldiers crossed the Jinsha River at Jiaopingdu in Huili City, southwest China's Sichuan Province. Towering gorges frame the rushing river, while the famous line "Warmly beating the Golden Sand River's waves against the rocks" is carved into the cliff, marking this decisive breakthrough during the Long March.

In May 1935, as the Central Red Army carried out its ingenious crossing of the Jinsha River, a headquarters was set up in cliffside caves to direct the entire operation. Today, visitors come here to retrace this chapter of history.

The Jinsha River continues to flow, carrying the memories of the past – and the journeys of those who came before continue to light the way forward.
