What began as a gathering among friends in the city of Feliz during the 2025 Easter holiday, ended in a homicide and a femicide after a man saw a post on social media about the gathering. Accused by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS) of killing his ex-girlfriend and her then-boyfriend, the defendant will be tried by the jury next Thursday, September 24.
The prosecutors, Cíntia Foster de Almeida and João Francisco Cklees Filho, will appear in court. The victims are Raíssa Müller, 21 years old, the defendant's ex-girlfriend, and Eric Richard de Oliveira Turato, 24 years old, her then-boyfriend at the time of the events. The defendant was found guilty of aggravated homicide for a trivial motive, cruel means, and a resource that made it difficult for the victim to defend herself, as well as aggravated femicide committed in a domestic violence context, also with the same aggravating factors as the homicide.
THE CASE
According to the MPRS indictment, on the night of April 18, 2025, the man broke into his ex-girlfriend's residence and stabbed her then-boyfriend to death. He then also killed Raíssa Müller. The Justice determined that the case should be submitted to popular trial, while maintaining the defendant's pre-trial detention, highlighting the extreme seriousness of the conduct, the danger generated, and the need to protect public order and the integrity of witnesses.
