The Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development will hold a public hearing this Thursday (24) to discuss the El Niño phenomenon.
The meeting will be held in Plenary 6, at 10:00 am.

The meeting was proposed by the chairman of the committee, Deputy Cobalchini (MDB-SC), and will address studies on the characteristics of the phenomenon, its potential evolution, and possible environmental and socio-economic repercussions in different regions and activities in Brazil.
According to Cobalchini, monitoring the research is important to enhance the understanding of the risks associated with El Niño and to improve preparedness and response measures.
"It is essential to expand access to updated technical and scientific information on El Niño and its possible environmental and socio-economic impacts," he stated.
