
Vitalii Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, reported this on Facebook, as cited by Ukrinform.
“Firefighters from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) have extinguished the fire at the civilian enterprise that came under Russian attack yesterday. Debris removal and an assessment of the extent of the damage are now being completed at the site,” the regional governor said.
According to Bunechko, two people were killed and two others injured. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in the region and are in moderate condition.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that fires broke out in warehouse and production buildings in the Korosten district of the Zhytomyr region.
During subsequent air raid alerts, rescuers had to withdraw to a safe location.
According to the report, SES bomb disposal teams inspected the area for explosive remnants, while firefighters extinguished the fires.
A total of 56 rescuers and 17 SES vehicles, along with emergency services and volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response team, worked at the site.
