As of the morning of September 18, Russian drone and artillery attacks have caused new power outages for consumers in four regions, whereas in the Zhytomyr region, 24 settlements were left without electricity due to adverse weather.

Ukraine’s national grid operator Ukrenergo announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"As a result of Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling, there are new power outages this morning in the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions. Restoration work is already underway wherever security conditions allow," the statement reads.

In the Zhytomyr region, adverse weather conditions left 24 settlements fully or partially without power this morning. Repair crews from regional power distribution companies are already working to restore the damaged grids.

As of 09:30 on Friday, electricity consumption was 8.9% higher than on Thursday. This is due to cloudy weather in some regions, which reduces the efficiency of household solar power plants.

Ukrenergo advised shifting high-energy consumption to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently – between 11:00 and 15:00. Conversely, energy officials asked consumers to use electricity sparingly between 18:00 and 22:00.
