IFRR opens registration for the Proarc 2026 Art and Culture Competition

The Federal Institute of Roraima (IFRR), through the Pro-Rectorate of Extension (Proex), published, on Friday, September 11, theNotice 7/2026, which establishes the rules of the Art and Culture Competition of the IFRR Art and Culture Program (Proarc 2026). Registration, open from September 16 to October 9, 2026, must be carried out exclusively through anelectronic form.

In this edition, the competition has the themeBioeconomy and Art: the union of the standing forest with creative economy, proposing reflections on the relationships between art, culture, sustainability, ancestral knowledge, environmental conservation, and the generation of economic opportunities from the valorization of forest resources and potential. The contest is part of the Proarc program and aims to encourage the production, contextualization, and dissemination of different artistic expressions.

For the president of the organizing committee of Proarc, Professor Marilene Fernandes, participation in the contest allows the involvement of different audiences and the valorization of artistic manifestations related to the theme. "Participation in Proarc represents an opportunity for artists, students, staff, former employees, and external community members to share their talents and contribute to the valorization of art, culture, the forest, and the creative economy in Roraima," she explained.

Who can participate

The contest is aimed at four groups of participants:

  • Regularly enrolled students at the IFRR, at any level or mode of study;
  • Graduates of the IFRR;
  • Active and inactive employees, outsourced employees, interns at the IFRR, and public employees of the PEC; and
  • Members of the external community residing in the state of Roraima.

Each participant may only register in one target group and one artistic category.

Categories

The works may be entered in three categories:

  • Literary productions:short stories, micro-stories, essays, poems and novels;
  • Visual arts:drawing, photography, painting, sculpture, crafts, engraving, comic, art and art theory, performance, installations, graffiti and urban art; and
  • Performing Arts:theater, dance, circus, performance and mime.

According to the regulations, the productions must be original and directly related to the theme of the competition. In addition, they must be of human authorship, therefore the use of artificial intelligence tools in their creation is prohibited.

Award

The top three performers in each category and group will be awarded prizes.R$ 500.00 for 1st place, R$ 300.00 for 2nd place, and R$ 150.00 for 3rd place.In addition to the cash prize, winners who present their work at Forint 2026 will also receive a participation certificate.

The submissions will be evaluated by experts according to the criteria established in the call for proposals, such as relevance to the theme, coherence, creativity, technical proficiency, and the use of linguistic or artistic resources, depending on the chosen category.

During registration, participants must submit the work in the required format for the chosen category and attach the Image and Audio Usage Rights Agreement. In the case of participants under 18 years of age, the document must be completed and signed by the legal guardian.

Interested parties should carefully review the call for proposals to verify the instructions regarding format, file identification, presentation duration, image resolution, and other requirements.

Presentation at Forint 2026

The winning works should preferably be exhibited or presented during the 14th edition of the Forum of Integration of Teaching, Research, Extension and Innovation (Forint 2026), which will be held on the dates.November 25, 26 and 27, 2026, inCampus, Majari (CAM), located in northern Roraima.

The Forint constitutes one of the institutional spaces for integrating the activities developed by IFRR in the areas of teaching, research, extension, and innovation. See recent article about the forum by accessinghere.

Results of the contest and contact for information

The preliminary result of the contest is expected to beOctober 27, and the final result forOctober 30, 2026.
