Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the Jews of Russia on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
The message reads, in part:
“Revered by Jews around the world, this celebration stands as a symbol of moral and spiritual improvement, bringing believers the joy of communion with the centuries-old historical and cultural heritage of their forefathers, and their unique traditions and customs, as passed from one generation to another.
I must note that Russia’s Jewish associations have been playing a proactive role in our country’s everyday life and social interactions, making a meaningful contribution to fulfilling important patriotic, educational and charity initiatives, maintaining constructive inter-ethnic and inter-faith dialogue in our country, and demonstrating a sincere commitment to preserving family values and educating young people.”
