Andréa Rodrigues Chaves received international recognition for her contributions to chemistry

The professor fromInstitute of Chemistryof the Federal University of Goiás (IQ UFG), Andréa Rodrigues Chaves, received the Janusz Pawliszyn Medal on Tuesday (September 15th) during the Recent Advances in Sample Preparation Workshop (Warpa). The honored professor is the coordinator ofCenter of Excellence in Molecular Studies, Energy and Petroleum(Cemep), affiliated with IQ UFG.
The award highlights internationally recognized researchers who make significant contributions to the development and application of contemporary sample preparation techniques, further enhancing the scientific impact and excellence of research conducted at the Cemep and UFG.
The Warpa was held in Maceió (AL) as part of the program for the 22nd National Meeting of Analytical Chemistry (ENQA 2026), one of the largest events in the field of Analytical Chemistry in Latin America.
At the invitation of the organization, the medal was awarded to Professor Andrea Chaves by the Pro-rector of Research and Innovation of the Federal University of Goiás, Wendell Coltro.
The event is the result of a partnership between the Federal University of Alagoas (Ufal) and the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ) and is being held concurrently with the 10th Ibero-American Congress of Analytical Chemistry (CIAQA), which contributes to the promotion of internationalization and the exchange of experiences between researchers from Latin America and other countries.
