Expressing gratitude to the present authorities, especially the staff and students, Luiz Carlos da Cunha thanked the votes of confidence for his re-election to the position and reaffirmed the commitment made four years ago. "Being in management is like living one's own life in an exciting way, and this feeling reaches those who decide to dedicate themselves to this amazing work," he stated. In addition to producing teaching, research, innovation, and services, "here we produce dreams, and I was able to witness this over these years, following the evolution and growth of projects, laboratories, and seeing the power of believing," he recalled. The director reminded that the academic unit has only 37 professors and just over 40 technical-administrative staff, but even in the face of challenges, especially in the area of infrastructure, the strength of FF is present in the establishment of cutting-edge laboratories in various areas, always progressing in innovation and also being a reference in the offer of stricto sensu courses. Knowing that there is much to preserve, but also much to build, "we will continue to care transparently and fairly in teaching, research, extension, and management, always aiming to contribute in the best possible way to life in society," he concluded.
The legacy left by previous administrations was highlighted by the vice-director who assumes the position, Sérgio Costa, stating that he hopes to collaborate with the mandate and counts on the support of the rectorship. He recalled that in the biblical book of Ecclesiasticus, chapter 38, there is a passage that reminds us of the work of the pharmacist, "let us always remember that our work is never and we will continue to work for health."
Eric de Souza Gil, left the position of vice-director, stating that he was a coordinator and postgraduate, when he worked directly with the current director. "I have more aptitude for teaching and research, but I am grateful for this time in management. Luiz Carlos is undoubtedly one of the best directors we have had at FF," he concluded.
The rector of UFG, Sandramara Matias Chaves, stated that even with 40 years of University, she is still surprised by the potential to do and produce in society. "Whether through serving the population or through research, we experience the strength through the people who make up its daily life," the rector stated, or to remember that institutions celebrate the presentation of 11 new APCNs. Over these seven months of management, and in deep dynamic action in various fronts, Sandramara Matias Chaves understands that this growth is collective and that each one who passes through this story, at their time and in their way, builds a little more. "The numbers of research and extension projects that grow every day are a reflection of a University that is becoming stronger and stronger. We are able to respond to problems from the most diverse areas, always seeking the best possible quality of life," she recalled.
