Alzheimer's disease is more than a condition that affects memory. As it progresses, it can reshape how people communicate, navigate everyday life and connect with those around them. Behind every patient, someone is often quietly learning to adapt, care, and carry the weight of a journey that can last for years.

So how do we recognize the early signs? Which common ideas about Alzheimer's need a second look? And how can caregivers protect their own well-being while being there for someone they love?

September is World Alzheimer's Month, a time to deepen our understanding of the disease and the millions of people it touches. In this episode of Health Talk, let's join Professor Wang Huali from the Dementia Care and Research Center at Peking University Sixth Hospital for a closer look at the disease.
