The Regional Federal Court of the 4th Region (TRF4) published Portaria nº 825/2026, which suspends, within the Federal Courts of 1st and 2nd Instance in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, on Monday, September 21, 2026, the deadlines and the holding of hearings and trials, the latter subject to a request from the interested party.
The suspension is due to the severe storms that affected Rio Grande do Sul in the last hours, causing flooding, interruption of electricity services, instability in communication and data networks, as well as the closure of roads.
The measure considers the need to ensure due process, the right to a fair defense and the guarantee of judicial service, without prejudice to the parties and legal professionals in this moment in which Rio Grande do Sul is facing adverse weather events.
