Audio: Voters who fail to vote must justify their absence to avoid penalties

The voter who is unable to attend the first or second round of elections must justify their absence to avoid penalties from the Electoral Court. This justification can be made in person or by cell phone, through the e-Título app. The penalty for failing to vote and not justifying the absence is a fine of up to R$ 3.51. Until this fine is paid, the citizen is prohibited from issuing a passport or identity card, registering for a public competition, or taking office in a public position or function.
