The Physiotherapy course at the Governador Valadares campus of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF-GV) held the IntegraFisio 2026 from September 11th to 13th. With a diverse program, the event included lectures, discussions, and activities aimed at integrating the academic community and bringing students closer to students from other higher education institutions in the region. The first two days were in person, in the auditorium of the Vila Bretas Unit, while the last one took place online, on YouTube, expanding the reach and allowing speakers from other states to participate.
According to the coordinator of the Physiotherapy course, Professor Íbis Ariana Peña de Moraes, the main objective was "to promote integration between theory and practice in physiotherapy training, bringing students closer to professionals working in different areas of the profession." According to her, the event went beyond technical updates. "More than just updating content, we wanted to show academics the multiple paths possible within physiotherapy, from hospital and outpatient care to public health, high-performance sports, and ergonomics," she said.

Throughout the three days, the program addressed topics such as connective tissues and fascia, digital transformation at the bedside, fall prevention in the elderly, women's and men's health, career planning, cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatrics, territorial action, gerontology (with a focus on chronic Chikungunya), postgraduate studies and research, innovation in health, forensic ergonomics expertise, cardiovascular physiotherapy in the ICU, high-performance sports, mechanical ventilation, ergonomics in mining and return to sports after anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The event also included a visit by the president of CREFITO-4, José Avelino de Melo Júnior. On this occasion, the Aurora Award was presented, an annual award created by the Council that recognizes physiotherapy and occupational therapy students with exemplary performance in the mandatory curricular internship in Minas Gerais. The winner of this edition was the student Ana Clara Hastenreiter, chosen by the faculty. The recognition considers criteria such as attendance, punctuality, responsibility, initiative, ethical conduct and commitment to patient well-being.
The organization of IntegraFisio 2026 was largely carried out by the academic center of the course, under the leadership of the students Thays Schimidt Miranda, president, and Daiane da Silva Oliveira, vice-president. The edition consolidated the role of the academic center in organizing the event, alongside the course coordination and departmental head.
