Following a complaint by the Public Ministry of Ceará (MPCE), the 6th Court of the Criminal Court of Fortaleza sentenced Lucas Paiva da Silva, known as "Toti", and Alan Lima Portela, known as "Biruta", to imprisonment on Thursday, September 17, 2023, for the murder of S.M.G. According to the court documents, Lucas did not accept the end of the relationship with the victim, which was marked by fights and assaults. The pair was also sentenced for being part of a criminal organization.
The crime occurred on July 30, 2025, in the afternoon, in the Quintino Cunha neighborhood, in Fortaleza. On that occasion, the defendants entered the house of S.M.G, who was with their 10-year-old son. Subsequently, the victim was taken upstairs by an unidentified woman and shot to death by Alan. Lucas is expected to serve a sentence of 40 years, 4 months and 5 days in prison, while Alan was sentenced to 59 years, 5 months and 18 days in prison.
The jury recognized the aggravating circumstances that the crime was committed for a malicious motive, in the presence of the victim's son, and by means that made it difficult for her to defend herself. In Lucas's case, the sentence was increased due to his status as a leader of a criminal organization, while Alan received a harsher sentence for being a repeat offender, that is, for having already been convicted previously for various other crimes.
