Vladimir Putin congratulated the staff and veterans of Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia on the company’s 80th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The history of your enterprise is closely intertwined with the names of talented scientists, designers, engineers, and military specialists whose brilliant discoveries and inventions made a truly unique contribution to creating and developing our national space rocket industry and reinforcing the military industrial complex. The corporation’s outstanding achievements include creating the first artificial Earth satellite and the Vostok single-pilot crewed spacecraft, which took Yury Gagarin on his legendary spaceflight. It has also effectively contributed to research programmes to study the Moon, Venus and Mars.
It is great that Energia Rocket and Space Corporation is a recognised leader in its sector. You have been carefully preserving and building on the outstanding traditions of your predecessors by demonstrating diligence in your work, introducing bold, innovative technology and ideas, and carrying out major, forward-looking projects. I am convinced that these approaches will enable you to effectively deliver on your objectives, which include building a new-generation crewed transport spacecraft, designing the Russian orbital station, and making booster modules for launching spacecraft.”
