Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to the national leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.
The message reads, in part:
“Your country has built a track record of success in economic and social affairs and has won universal praise for what it has achieved, while also earning its well-deserved reputation on the international stage. You have made an immense personal contribution to shaping and carrying out the policy of positive neutrality, and there is no doubt that this policy line operates as a major factor in ensuring regional stability and security.
Moscow and Ashgabat have been generating positive momentum in developing their relations of a deep strategic partnership. I am convinced that by working together we will continue stepping up our effective bilateral cooperation across all spheres, while also cooperating on international affairs in a constructive manner.
I sincerely wish you, Mr Berdimuhamedov, good health, wellbeing and every success, and I wish peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Turkmenistan.”
