The death of hairdresser Návia Regina Christan, 46 years old, following an attempted murder in which she survived about a year earlier, resulted in the conviction in Tramandaí of four defendants by the Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS). The decision was made on Friday, September 25, at the end of a trial that began on Thursday, September 24, with sentences of 30 years in prison for the victim's sister; 26 years and 8 months in prison for her husband; and the intermediaries, 17 years, 9 months and 10 days, as well as, 5 years, 6 months and 20 days in prison. The prosecutors André Tarouco, from Tramandaí, and Aline Baldissera, designated by the Núcleo de Apoio ao Júri (NAJ) of the MPRS, acted in the Tribunal of Jury.
According to the jury's verdict, the defendants were found responsible for their participation in the planning, coordination, and hiring of the perpetrators of the homicide, which occurred on November 5, 2018. According to the indictment, the victim was shot to death inside the beauty salon by a man who entered the establishment posing as a customer. The sentences were for aggravated homicide motivated by a trivial reason, a promise of reward, and the use of a tactic that made it difficult for the victim to defend herself. The crime originated from family conflicts and the belief of the perpetrators that the hairdresser was causing financial harm to a relative.

ATTEMPTED MURDER
On October 26, 2017, Návia Regina Christan was the victim of an attempted murder at home. She was shot and survived the attack, but suffered permanent injuries, including the loss of vision in one eye. The investigation identified those involved in the organization and execution of the crime, who were subsequently convicted by the jury in March of the previous year.
HOMICIDE
On November 5, 2018, just over a year after the first attack, Návia was killed in her beauty salon in Tramandaí. According to the MPRS indictment, the four accused (three of whom were the same individuals convicted in the attempted murder trial) were involved in the planning and mediation of hiring the perpetrators. Two men accused of carrying out the murder have already been tried and convicted.
JURY TRIAL DELAY
Initially scheduled for July of this year, the jury trial, which concluded this Friday, was postponed after the defense of two accused requested the bifurcation of the case, citing health reasons. The request was denied by the court, which ruled that the conduct of the defendants was linked and should be analyzed jointly by the jurors.
