Northwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico... * Until 430 PM MDT. * At 229 PM MDT, A line of thunderstorms is moving into the Sacramento Mountains, with rainfall rates up to 4 inches per hour. While the heaviest rainfall will be fairly brief, these rainfall rates can still cause minor flooding in poor drainage areas. Worse flooding can be expected in arroyos that flow west, including Tularosa Creek. While heavy rain has moved east of Tularosa, low water crossings will become flooded as runoff makes its way into the Basin. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated.
