The Democratic Progressive Party authorities in Taiwan are criticized in using various new measures recently to obstruct cross-Strait exchanges. That includes vigorously promoting the idea that there are so-called "risks" for Taiwan people to travel to the mainland, as well as asking travel agencies to collect the personal information of tourists visiting the mainland. These actions have drawn criticism and raised concerns on the island.
