Ninety years ago, crossing Jiajin Mountain in southwest China was a grueling test for the Red Army during the Long March, with freezing temperatures, deep snow and treacherous terrain. Today, at the foot of the same mountain, a Tibetan woman is taking on a different kind of challenge — keeping her community's traditional crafts alive. For years, she used her camera to document her hometown and its culture. Then she realized that simply recording them was not enough. So she started a workshop, bringing together dozens of local women to keep their traditions alive — and turn them into a livelihood.
