Washington County in southeastern Iowa... * Until 815 AM CDT. * At 541 AM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported flash flooding in Kalona. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen across portions of the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing. Rain has tapered off to mainly light to at times moderate rain, with the heaviest rain having already occurred. Be alert for rapid rises and flooding on area streams, creeks and along the English River. Washington County deputies reported around a foot of water was covering the intersection of 133rd Street and Nutmeg Street in Kalona due to the English River being out its banks.
