The Prosecutor General, Herbert Santos, participated in the afternoon of Thursday (September 24th) in the session of the Full Court of the Ceará State Court of Justice (TJCE), which elected the leaders of the state judiciary for the 2027–2029 biennium. The vote took place in the Plenary Conselheiro Bernardo Machado da Costa Dória, in the Cambeba neighborhood, in Fortaleza, through the Electronic Voting System (SVE).
The judge Francisco Mauro Ferreira Liberato was elected president of the TJCE. Judge José Tarcílio Sousa da Silva will be the vice-president, while judge Mário Parente Teófilo Neto will assume the General Court of Justice. The judge Silvia Soares de Sá Nóbrega was elected to the Ombudsman's Office.
During the session, Prosecutor General Herbert Santos highlighted the importance of the institutional relationship between the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary, marked by respect for the independence and autonomy of each institution. "I want to congratulate the new leaders of the Ceará State Court of Justice and wish them a fruitful management in the state judiciary. The Public Prosecutor's Office maintains with the Court a institutional relationship based on dialogue and cooperation in favor of society. I also register my recognition for the management of Judge Heráclito Vieira, marked by serenity, public spirit and permanent willingness for understanding between institutions. I wish the new leaders much success in this mission and balance to face the challenges that will come," he said.
In his statement, the elected president, judge Francisco Mauro Ferreira Liberato, thanked for the choice and emphasized the principles he intends to take to the management of the Court. "This is a very special and thank you day for me. We will work maintaining respect, harmony and dialogue," he declared.
