Up to 1 foot of inundation is possible for sound-side flooding from Buxton southward/westward as strong NW'rly winds remain in place tonight. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet in the surf zone north of Cape Hatteras. For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents, large breaking waves expected, and strong longshore currents in the surf zone. * WHERE...Hatteras Island. Beach hazard statement for longshore currents and the high surf advisory is confined to beaches north of Cape Hatteras. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 11 AM EDT Saturday.
