* WHAT...1 to 2 ft, locally 2 1/2 ft, of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. The highest water levels are likely with the Sunday midday high tides. * WHERE...Bronx, Northwest Suffolk, Northern Queens and Northern Nassau Counties. * WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT Sunday. * COASTAL IMPACTS...Minor to moderate flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect 1 to 2 ft, locally 2 1/2 ft, of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. * SHOREFRONT/BEACH IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 3 to 6 ft, along with elevated water levels, will result in areas of dune erosion with damage to a few waterfront structures. Splashover over seawalls and overwashes where dune structures are compromised may locally exacerbate flooding of roadways and vulnerable structures behind protective dunes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional rounds of minor coastal flooding are possible for the Sunday night into early next week high tides.…
