The Public Ministry of Ceará participated on Thursday (September 3rd) in the plenary session "State Public Ministries and Funds of Rights: paths for strengthening the third sector," held in São Paulo during the 18th edition of the ABCR Festival, organized by the Brazilian Association of Resource Collectors. Representing the institution, Prosecutor Salomé de Oliveira Nogueira, President of the State Council Manager of the Fund for the Defense of Diffuse Rights (FDID), presented the Ceará experience in managing the fund and the advances achieved in supporting civil society organizations through the financing of projects of diffuse interest.
She also highlighted the strategic role of this type of fund as a tool for social transformation, capable of converting resources from liability for damages into funding for projects aimed at promoting rights. The management of the funds and their contribution to strengthening the Third Sector and guaranteeing rights in different states were also discussed.
The plenary session was attended by Prosecutor Uirassu de Melo Medeiros, Coordinator of the Criminal Support Center and of Penal Executions, and representative of the Fund for Diffuse Rights of Paraíba (FDD/PB); Prosecutor Rogério Luis Gomes de Queiroz, President-Conselheiro of the Fund for the Defense of Fundamental Rights of the Bahia Public Ministry (FDDF-MPBA); Prosecutor Andréa Scaff de Paula Mota, Vice-President-Conselheira of the FDDF-MPBA; and mediator Fagna Freitas Santana Calomeni, representative of the Irmã Dulce Social Works Association in the Bahia Fund Council.
ABCR Festival
The event brings together, until Friday (September 4th), members of state public ministries, experts, public managers, representatives of social organizations, funders, and professionals in the Third Sector to discuss trends, challenges, and strategies aimed at promoting social impact and strengthening the sector. The initiative is organized by the Brazilian Association of Resource Collectors (ABCR), a leading entity in promoting the sustainability of civil society organizations and in developing resource mobilization in Brazil.
