Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants of the 22nd Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Security Agencies and Intelligence Services of the CIS Member States on intelligence activities, taking place in St Petersburg.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the preceding years, your meetings in this highly authoritative format have convincingly demonstrated their effectiveness, providing an excellent opportunity for a comprehensive discussion of a wide range of professional issues, and conducive to deepening and expanding the multifaceted ties between the special services of our countries.
Today, amid a challenging international situation, it is of paramount importance to continue developing and refining the forms and methods of cooperation between your agencies in countering common external threats. I wish to underscore that cooperation in the field of intelligence constitutes a significant factor in strengthening the sovereignty and security of each CIS member state, as well as in fostering the conditions necessary for stability and development throughout the entire Commonwealth.
I strongly believe that, in keeping with established tradition, the meeting will be conducted in a constructive atmosphere.”
