Greig Sharman will be joining the NAO as its new Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) on 1 October 2026.

Greig joins from Turning Point, where he was Group CIO with responsibility for technology, data, insight, performance and organisational change. He brings more than 20 years’ experience leading digital and business transformation in complex, regulated organisations including senior executive roles at the NSPCC and the University of Leeds. He previously held consulting leadership positions with DXC (CSC) Technology and Accenture. Throughout his career, Greig has led major transformation programmes, technology modernisation initiatives and enterprise data strategies. He is passionate about using data and technology to improve outcomes, organisational performance and public impact.

Greig Sharman said: “I am thrilled to be joining the NAO. Our role in supporting Parliament and improving value for money is more important than ever. I look forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to harness the power of digital, data and AI, strengthen organisational capability, and support the delivery of high-quality insight that helps improve outcomes for citizens and public services.”

Greig will sit on the Executive Team, leading Digital, Data and AI work.

Head of the NAO, Gareth Davies, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Greig onto our Executive Team. He will provide the leadership we need to ensure that the NAO takes full advantage of the new technology that is transforming the audit profession, enhancing the insight we provide to Parliament and the public. He will also help ensure we are properly equipped to assess government’s use of AI.”
