Rescuers continue their race against time in search of survivors following a devastating mudslide triggered by an ice-rock avalanche in Nepal on August 26 that hit the border port of Gyirong in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.

The mudslide destroyed about three kilometers of National Highway 216 leading to the border port. Rescue crews are working around the clock to restore the road, with trucks hauling large rocks to the site and workers producing gabions to reinforce the roadbed.

Despite challenging terrain, continued rainfall and the risk of further mudslides, efforts are underway to restore access to the border port.
