According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in a Facebook post, updating on the situation as of 08:00 Friday, August 28.
The Russian army carried out 86 airstrikes using 274 guided aerial bombs, deployed 10,602 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,396 shelling attacks, including 76 using multiple-launch rocket systems.
Artillery shelling targeted Tovstodubove, Bachivsk, Bezsalivka, Korenok, Ulanove, Hirky, Iskryskivshchyna, Malushyne, Vyntorivka, Yastrubshchyna, Zhuravka, Potapivka and Chuikivka in Sumy region, as well as Kamianska and Kovpynka in Chernihiv region. Tovstodubove was also hit by an airstrike.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, two enemy assault actions were recorded. The aggressor carried out 45 shelling attacks, two of them using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 12 attacks toward Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Hrafskе, Rubizhne, Starytsia, Dovhenke, Radkivka, Okhrimivka, Chuhunivka and Zakharivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted no offensive operations.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 11 attempts by Russian forces to attack toward Lyman and in the areas of Novyi Myr, Novoselivka, Shyikivka and Cherneshchyna.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces conducted seven assault operations near Kryva Luka and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces conducted one offensive action toward Malynivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, 35 attacks were recorded in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Rusynyi Yar, Novopavlivka, Sofiivka, Kucheriv Yar and Dovha Balka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces carried out 40 attacks toward Bilytske, Dobropillia, Hannivka, Chernihivka, Svit, Vasylivka and Serhiivka, as well as in the areas of Molodetske, Novopidhorodnie, Kotlyne, Udachne and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy carried out four attacks near Myrne, Rybne and Zlahoda.
In the Huliaipole direction, Russian forces attacked seven times toward Vozdvyzhivka, Chervona Krynytsia, Verkhnia Tersa and Huliaipole.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy made one attempt to improve its positions.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of Russian forces forming offensive groups were detected.
As Ukrinform reported, total combat losses of Russian forces since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to August 28, 2026, amount to approximately 1,483,780 personnel.
