China and Egypt mark 70 years of ties with growing cooperation

China and Egypt mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026. Since forging ties on May 30, 1956, with Egypt becoming the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with China, the two countries have deepened cooperation across trade, tourism and other fields. In 2025, bilateral trade reached $20.79 billion, highlighting the growing economic and trade ties between the two countries.
