A powerful explosion occurred near the vessel, and smoke was seen rising from the area.
Nefrit is part of Russia’s maritime and energy infrastructure. It supported oil and gas operations, serviced offshore facilities, transported cargo and personnel, and carried out underwater engineering work. The vessel’s activities directly supported Russia’s war economy and the financing of its criminal aggression against Ukraine.
“Striking Nefrit is a blow to the enemy’s logistics, specialized capabilities and military-economic infrastructure,” the Ukrainian Navy said.
