Russian attacks cause destruction in 13 regions of Ukraine overnight, Zelensky says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“In Odesa, emergency services continue to work at the site where a drone struck a high-rise residential building. Due to damage to apartments on floors 10 through 17, 17 people are known to have been injured, including three children. Work is ongoing to address the aftermath of the strike in the Obukhiv and Boryspil districts. A number of State Emergency Service rescuers are battling a fire at a pharmaceutical company’s warehouse. There were strikes on Nikopol, Kherson, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi. In total, there has been destruction in 13 regions just overnight,” Zelensky noted.

He emphasized that in many cities and communities, the alarm has hardly subsided due to the threat of Russian jet drones.

“The enemy hasn’t taken a break—the Russians have found a new way to escalate the conflict and have no plans to slow down,” the Head of State emphasized.

According to the President, we need to step up our response and countermeasures, as well as accelerate cooperation with European manufacturers of defense systems, particularly air defense—both anti-missile and anti-drone systems.

“Europe can be self-sufficient and strong—a great deal has already been done toward this goal in recent years. And only in this way can it protect itself and its way of life. Every day, we are working with our partners on new defense packages. Thank you to everyone working toward our common defense. Thank you to everyone who is helping Ukraine,” Zelensky added.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian invaders carried out 957 strikes on 52 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region over the past day, wounding one person. In addition, over the past day, Russia struck 24 settlements in the Sumy region nearly 40 times, injuring eight people, and shelled the Chernihiv region 16 times.
