Vladimir Putin toured the large freezer fishing trawler Kapitan Yunak.

The President was shown the trawler’s mess room, sickbay, and crew cabins. On the bridge, Captain Arkady Peretolchin briefed the President on the distinctive operational characteristics of this modern vessel. The Head of State signed the ship’s log, wishing the crew a successful catch, and sounded the ship’s signal horn in greeting.
The President then held a brief meeting with the crew.
The Kapitan Yunak is among the most advanced fishing vessels in the world. The keel was laid at the Admiralty Shipyards in June 2021. The vessel is named in honour of Vladimir Yunak (1948–2008) – an outstanding captain and gifted master mariner who dedicated his life to the sea.
