Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 18th National Youth Martial Arts Games which have opened in the Krasnodar Territory.
The message reads, in part:
“Over the past years, these traditional competitions have strengthened their consolidating and constructive potential and made a substantial contribution to the development of children’s and youth sport in our country and to promoting the values of a healthy and active lifestyle.
“I am confident that the participants in the current Games that are held during the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, will show excellent physical training levels and a high level of self-discipline because young martial arts experts are invariably distinguished not only by their skill, but also by their strong character, respect for their opponents, the ability to take a hit, and the willingness not to back down in the face of difficulties.
“I wish you successful starts, brilliant triumphs, positive and unforgettable impressions. And, of course, I sincerely wish that young people will honourably represent their schools, home cities and regions.”
