* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of central New Mexico, including the following area, South Central Mountains. * WHEN...From 11 AM MDT this morning through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations downstream of the South Fork and Salt wildfire burn scars. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Monsoon moisture and atmospheric instability will be present this afternoon, leading to the development of strong, slow- moving thunderstorms over the Sacramento mountains. These slow-moving storms will be capable of producing rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour which may lead to excessive runoff on the vulnerable South Fork and Salt burn scars.
