The areas affected include... Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet NY out 20 NM... Moriches Inlet to Montauk Point NY out 20 NM... Long Island Sound... Peconic and Gardiners Bays... Long Island South Shore Bays... At 520 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Plum Island to 7 nm northeast of Great South Bay, moving east at 30 knots.
