At 253 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Springer Mountain Shelter, or 13 miles northwest of Dahlonega, moving west at 5 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Amicalola Falls State Park, Springer Mountain Shelter, Len Foote Hike Inn, Cartecay, Camp Merrill, Pisgah, Black Gap Shelter, Stover Creek Shelter, Hawk Mountain Shelter, Nimblewill, and Roy.
