At 451 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Ankeny, moving north at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. This storm has a history of quarter to ping ball sized hail. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Ankeny, Johnston, Altoona, Bondurant, Polk City, Saylorville, Mitchellville, Saylorville Lake, Elkhart, Alleman, Mingo, Valeria, Margo Frankel Woods State Park, and Ankeny Regional Airport. This includes the following highways... Interstate 35 between mile markers 90 and 100. Interstate 80 between mile markers 145 and 148.
