A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Lake Michigan Michigan City IN to St. Joseph MI 5 NM offshore to mid-line of lake.... New Buffalo MI to St Joseph MI... At 1142 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 13 nm northeast of South Haven Light to 9 nm west of St. Joseph to near Montrose Harbor, moving east at 20 knots. Strong thunderstorms will affect the open waters of southern Lake Michigan and also the nearshore waters between New Buffalo and Michigan City.
