Few combat forces in global anti-fascist history endured struggles as severe as China's Northeast United Resistance Army. Isolated from the CPC Central Committee for 14 years and stranded in frozen wilderness without supplies or backup, the troops fought alone against Japanese aggression. Their dauntless perseverance in extreme adversity embodies the core spirit of the century-old CPC.
In Benxi County, Liaoning Province, home to the historical sites of the Northeast Anti-Japanese War, a unique live drama unfolds at the Northeast United Resistance Army historical exhibition hall. Starring ordinary museum staff rather than professional actors, the heartfelt performance recounts the life-and-death bond between anti-Japanese soldiers and local villagers.
"Funding shortages ruled out professional actors. We rehearsed tirelessly to perfect every detail and stage this performance." said Wang Yang, the producer of Northeast United Resistance Army historical exhibition hall.
