The Open Waters 20 to 60 NM south of Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet NY... * Until 945 PM EDT. * At 850 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 12 nm east of Shark River Reef, moving southeast at 40 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
