For the following areas... Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA... Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD... At 624 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 11 nm northwest of Key Bridge to 6 nm east of Fort Washington, moving northeast at 25 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 64 knots and small hail. SOURCE...Observed wind of 65 knots at Cuckhold Creek. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds. Locations impacted include... Breton Bay, Potomac Creek, Saint Clements Bay, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Colonial Beach, Leesylvania State Park, Smallwood State Park, Quantico, Cobb Island, Swan Point, Coltons Point, Nomini Bay, Coles Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Wicomico River, Indian Head, and Occoquan Bay.
