SMWLIX The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a * Special Marine Warning for... Coastal Waters from Port Fourchon LA to Lower Atchafalaya River LA out 20 nm... Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM... Terrebonne Bay... * Until 645 AM CDT. * At 447 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from 7 nm southwest of Dulac to 6 nm southwest of Terrebonne Bay to 8 nm east of Timbalier Island to 15 nm southeast of Grand Isle, moving east at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Timbalier Bay, Caillou Bay, Terrebonne Bay, Isle Derniers, and Timbalier Island.
