At 953 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located
11 nm west of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, or 14 nm southeast of
Timbalier Island. The thunderstorm was nearly stationary.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.
