The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 10 AM Tuesday to

issued. This Fire Weather Watch for lightning is in effect from
Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Northern Seward Peninsula, Upper Kobuk Valleys
and Lower Koyukuk Valley.
* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM Tuesday to
midnight AKDT Tuesday night. For the Fire Weather Watch, from
Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.
* THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX...Scattered
* WINDS...North 5 to 10 mph.
* HUMIDITY...Low 30 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 70s. Lows in the mid 40s.
* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected due to
scattered thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will come with frequent
