...SUPER TYPHOON BAVI CONTINUES TO MOVE FARTHER WEST AWAY FROM THE MARIANAS... .NEW INFORMATION... .AREAS AFFECTED... This local statement provides important information and recommended actions for people in Guam and the Northern Marianas. .WATCHES/WARNINGS... Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed information about additional hazards. .STORM INFORMATION... At 7 AM ChST...the center of Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) was located near latitude 15.9N...longitude 141.1E. This was about 300 miles northwest of Guam. Storm motion was west-northwest, 290 degrees, at 16 mph. Storm intensity was 160 mph. .SITUATION OVERVIEW... Winds will continue to diminish over the Marianas through the day. Clean up will commence once COR 1 is lifted.
