SMWMHX The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a * Special Marine Warning for... Pamlico Sound... * Until 730 PM EDT. * At 602 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 12 nm west of Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge to 6 nm southwest of The Vicinity Of Gum Neck, moving southeast at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to nearly 50 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Engelhard and Swanquarter.
